Summer (she/her) works from a client-centered approach. Summer works with clients considering their social location (or contextual worlds) and acknowledges the impact of one’s intersecting identities on each person. She aims to help facilitate client insights and support relational attachments. Summer uses an integrative approach, focusing on Narrative Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Summer completed her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph with an Honours Specialization in Psychology. During this time, she focused her studies on women’s health issues, specifically intimate partner violence, relationship dynamics and human development. She is in the final stages of her Masters of Psychotherapy at Wilfrid Laurier University. She is also currently a certified Level 1 Emotionally Focused therapist by ICEEFT.
Summer has experience working with families, children, youth, and individuals. Summer has worked with a wide range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Agoraphobia, Conduct disorders (CD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism, Brain Injuries, Developmental and Speech Delays).
