Insurance Coverage for Psychotherapy
Our therapists have experience working with clients covered by insurance providers such as Sun Life, Manulife, Green Shield, Great-West Life, Blue Cross, and others. Here at Street Therapy, clinicians provide clients with receipts that clients then claim through their insurance provider and receive reimbursement.
Students at Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo can typically use their student benefits to access counselling with most of our therapists.
Due to the variety of policies offered by each insurance company covering different services at different levels, it's challenging to generalize about specific coverage details. To determine if our therapists are covered under your plan:
- Check under the extended health section of your insurance company’s website for coverage for counselling/therapy with an "RP" (which includes clinicians with the designation "RP [Qualifying])
- Call your insurance company and ask if you are covered for counselling/therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist
- Check under the extended health section of your benefits booklet for coverage to see a Registered Psychotherapist
- Ask an HR representative to check if your benefits cover you to see a Registered Psychotherapist
