Cindy is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and an expert-level registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance International specializing in trauma-informed and somatics.
She has spent more than 25 years advocating for equitable outcomes for Black, Indigenous, and communities of colour. She has received her Master of Arts in Psychology Counselling from Yorkville University, a Master of Arts in Social Foundations and Community Education from Eastern Michigan University, and an honours degree in Human Kinetics with a minor in cultural anthropology from the University of Windsor.
Her interests involve creating culturally secure and safe spaces for Indigenous women offering her awareness, compassion, and understanding of the collective yet diverse experiences of BIPOC communities. At the heart of her commitment is to help clients feel affirmed in their experiences and for their voices to be centred in their mental health care.
Cindy offers support in areas of trauma and stressor-related difficulties, identity, historic systemic/structural experiences, life transitions, relationships, and support for managing day-to-day challenges. Using an integrated, trauma-informed, and person-centred approach rooted in anti-oppression, feminist theory, restorative healing and relational cultural therapy, each plan is designed uniquely for you.
She provides in-person and remote (video/phone) counselling and psychotherapy and works in both Kitchener locations.
